To Grandmother’s House We Go

Nearly every year, on Christmas day, my parents would pack me and my two brothers in our tiny station wagon and drive nearly three hours to visit family. Thankfully, my brothers and I never argued or fought.
Just kidding … we fought more than The Housewives of Orange County.
This was before the invention of the iPad, so we had only thought-provoking conversation and debates to entertain us (mostly debates) … such as: who touched who first, or who was hogging all the cookies … All while seeking answers to life’s greatest questions … like: “are we there yet?” and “why didn’t you pee before we left the house?”.
Looking back, it’s amazing we endured so many hours in a confined space without killing each other.
It was a Christmas Miracle.
