This is a painting of a stormtrooper helmet from a LEGO minifigure. The white stylized skull is truly an iconic design. The only thing keeping stormtroopers from being truly terrifying, is their horrendous aim. They couldn't hit a womp rat if it was standing right next to them.
About my Star Wars Helmet Series
I feel like if health professionals would the words "or helmet" to their mask mandates, more people would comply. For these helmets of different LEGO minifigures, I was trying for low key paintings. In art, this means a limited value range, biased towards mid-tones and darks. As these are the "bad guys" in the Star Wars universe, I thought a murky atmosphere would work well.
For a challenge, I might try these again someday, as hi key paintings. It might be fun to see how i can attack this subject matter with that intention, especially for darth vader's all black helmet. Stay tuned.

Building large scale LEGO sets seems to be extremely popular, during quarantine. I guess putting together complicated LEGOs is a great way to take your mind off a global pandemic. Oh, and murder hornets. And a contentious election with a divided country. And … pass me the red LEGO brick, please. :-/
Sometimes, LEGO’s are simply an escape when the sky is falling. And so is art.
